Venue Description: The Queens County Farm Museum, the largest tract of undisturbed farmland in the city, can be traced back to as early as 1697, which was just 70 years after the Dutch founded New York City (or New Amsterdam). It is the only working historical farm in the city, and what's even more impressive is that it includes a 47-acre parcel of land that is the longest continuously farmed site in the state of New York.

Today, the Queens County Farm Museum fulfills its mission to preserve, restore, and interpret the farm. The site has historic farm buildings, a greenhouse complex, an orchard, and an herb garden, as well as livestock and farm vehicles. The museum works to educate the public on Queens's agricultural past, as well as agricultural and horticultural practices used today. The museum also offers fun activities such as hayrides and tours of the historical homes on the property. Visitors can buy animal feed that they can then redistribute to the farm animals. The facility can be rented out for children's birthdays or other private parties. Class trips are welcome, but must be arranged through the Education Department.

The Queens County Farm Museum is located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Floral Park. It is open year-round, Monday-Friday 10am-5pm for outdoor visits. Tours and hayrides are offered Saturday-Sunday 11am-4pm. Entrance is usually free (although hayrides cost extra); there is an entrance fee for special events. For more information, call 718-347-3276 or visit queensfarm.org.
