Jason Sagebiel, owner of Forest Hills Music StudioForest Hills Music Studio just opened its doors this past October, but studio founder Jason Sagebiel is thinking of expanding. Sagebiel, an accomplished music teacher and professional musician, was pleased to take the step from offering private instruction from his home to creating a professional space for his students to learn. Lessons are offered in acoustic, classical, and electric guitar, as well as music composition and theory. All students age 6 and up are welcome to learn at the studio.

Sagebiel, a former Marine, who suffered a traumatic brain injury while serving in Iraq, says he dedicated himself to the study of learning processes that focused on "high-order thinking" to help speed his recovery. He uses much of what he learned with his students. "I teach them how to get more from practice...how to use their time to learn more quickly and effectively," he says. Video cameras and recording software are also used during the lessons, offering students the opportunity to study their own work.

Forest Hills Music Studio is located at 107-37 71st Avenue, Suite 5, Forest Hills. Call for prices and more information: 718-261-2160.
